Communication - Although all of us have been communicating with others since our infancy, the process of transmitting information from an individual (or group) to another is a very complex process. So here is a blog for everyone...just ramble on!

An aunty calls and asks a series of personal questions...reason?? She has a son of a "marriageable age"

How do you look?
Wht's your education?
Wht kinda person are you?
Are you religious?
Wud you continue working after marriage?
Are you religious?
How long are your hair?
Are you domestically inclined?
How close are you to your relatives??

Sheetal, Dee, Vijz and Sabs laugh when I repeat this to them! Jeez...make fun of me..But I've gotten used to it. Used to being "checked" out by mothers who have sons aged 26+, at all social gatherings. Unusual stares, whimsical gestures and extremely obvious gossip, I have beared it all.

25 and single!! So what??? Big Deal.

Just leave me alone. Please dn't tax my sense of humour.
Thank you very much.

There is never a marriageable age....I would even marry at 15 if I were have found "You" know who :p

    >How do you look?
    I don't look. I see things!!!

    >Wht's your education?
    Does it count?
Failed in all grades till 9th grade was always promoted!!

    >Wht kinda person are you?
    Normal is boring!!!!

    >Are you religious?
Religious in my own way :-)

    >Wud you continue working after marriage?
I wouldn't if my wifey would like to work :-)

    >Are you religious?
So much pressure on being religious since she asked you twice :p

    >How long are your hair?
    Short and Sweet!!!

    >Are you domestically inclined?
Is it suppose to mean whether I know cooking? Every successful person is a good cook!!! Or If the questions means whether I am home person or outside..I don't mind being couch potato :p

    >How close are you to your relatives??

Do I have to stay close the significant other or do I have to stay close to relatives...?
Given more choices in question,I would say I m more close to my frds then my relatives!!!

    >25 and single!!

    There is correction needed.
It should be 25 and not yet Married.
    25 and single is INCORRECT!!!!!

  2. *lol*.. But I guess that's how Aunty's having kids of marriageable age typically 'function'. I don't know why but was reminded of this episode of Friends, wherein Chandler and Monica are on the look out for a sperm donor to have a baby and they catch hold of one of Chandler's 'good looking' friend and hammer him with all kinds of questions right from the kind of food he ate, to the state of his teeth to his grandmother's illness. That person was like, embarassed to the core.

Agreed. Jesus, if only things were simple.

Don't you know child marriages are not legal.!!

    I see things!!!

Aaah! Interesting. And what is it in a mate do you SEE?

Failed in all grades till 9th grade was always promoted!!

U actually were such a lousy student till grade 9?? Can't really believe that a person who was always promoted till grade 9 went on to complete his engineering and MS thereafter!

    Normal is boring!!!!

Yeah, U know wht kinda person I am :P

Religious in my own way :-)

U bet!! We follow religion as per our whims and fancies! He!He!

I wouldn't if my wifey would like to work :-)

I bet, ur wife wud neva tolerate u at home. So the chances of u sitting at home are close to NIL.

    Correction taken into account!!

It shud read as 25 and UNMARRIED

Mebbe. But it does get embarrasing at times. Especially when u are cornered and bombarded with ?'s. It's like giving an interview!!
